I’m a Winner!

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:15 pm by happygiggles

Once in a while I’ll put my name in for some blog candy that’s being offered on one of the numerous blogs that I stalk. I just so happens that this time I won! If you haven’t already, check out Amy’s blog, Pickled Paper Designs.  Her work is absolutely amazing.  You will not be disapointed!  I happened to win the April 2008 Cards Magazine which Amy has a card in!  I can’t wait to get it!  Thanks so much again Amy.

I Love Flowers

Posted in Uncategorized at 5:58 pm by happygiggles

This card is my try at Jen Del Muro’s a Sketch For You to Try.  I’m quite pleased with how it turned out!  Only took me a couple of hours, geesh!  The card base is a tan Bazzill Bling.  Love that stuff!  Next I layered on some chocolate chip, a layer of whisper white, which I scalloped the bottom edge then a piece of chocolate satin ribbon!  The squares are a piece of chocolate chip with a layer of this cute flower patterned paper that I got from Michael’s a while ago.  And those little white (ivory actually) flowers you see?  A find I came across in Michael’s as well!  In the wedding section!  They’re actually table confetti but I thought they would make great embellishments!  They offered white and ivory coloured ones with and amazing shimmer!  I opted for the ivory since I’m an ivory kinda girl!  (My wedding dress was a shade of ivory)

Here they are:

My finishing touches were the large flower stamp from Delight in Life stamped in Chocolate chip over a circle of soft sky, then the three bronze brads!

Recipe:

Stamps: Delight in Life
Paper: tan Bazzill Bling, chocolate chip, whisper white, patterned paper from Michaels, soft sky
Ink: Chocolate chip
Accessories: bronze brads, flower confetti from Michael’s, chocolate satin ribbon, square and circle punch, scalloped scissors, flower brad

A Mini

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:48 pm by happygiggles

I’m still here!  But honestly, I’ve ended up with a bad cold and I’ve also started back to my seasonal job at a local golf course on Monday!  Talk about being tired!  I’m just not used to all the fresh air.  I thought I had won the winter cold battle since I haven’t had one since last summer, but alas, it waits until I’m back to work.  Everything all at once!

Needless to say, I haven’t been making any cards.  I did find this one though that I haven’t posted yet.  It was for a limited supply challenge using only scraps.  It also had to be a mini card.

This was my version of the Limited Supplies challenge LSC158.  It’s actually amazing how many scraps one can accumulate!  I should do this more often!  This card is 4 1/4″ square.  The card base is wild wasabi with some light blue patterned paper layered over top.  I stamped the whisper white with one of the background stamps from boho backgrounds.  Also, the strip of light blue is stamped with a background stamp from the same set.  The flowers are from A Beautiful Thing, cut out then added with some foam tape and a flower brad through the middle.

Recipe:

Stamps: Boho Backgrounds, A Beautiful Thing
Paper: wild wasabi, purely pomegranate, whisper white, light blue patterned paper from Costco slab, navy (?)
Ink: Purely pomegranate, soft sky
Accessories: corner rounder, silver flower brads, silver eyelets, foam tape, circle punch

Spring is in My Card!

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:49 pm by happygiggles

This was a fun one!  But probably only because it was for the featured stamper at SCS.  This week we had the pleasure of recreating one of Mary’s beautiful cards.  Gosh, I had trouble choosing just one!  I ended up going with this one.  I thought it was so clever!  Although mine ended up being quite different.  The stamp I had intended to use just wasn’t going to work so I used this one from the Blooming with Love set.  I’m really enjoying this set!  (I just got it.)

I layered some new beautiful sparkly cardstock over the white card.  I wish you could see the sparkles!  Next I stamped the image in Chocolate Chip ink on more whisper white cardstock.  I used my water color pencils and a blender pen to color the image.  Then I added a layer of the new Stampin’ Up glitter to the pot in the middle.  (You can see the glimmer in the photo!)  All this is layered over some spring green Bazzill Bling!  Here’s a secret about the dew drop flower I did:  I found the dew drops in the floral section at Michael’s!  They are plastic, but they come in a huge bag for about 6 dollars!! (Canadian price, probably cheaper in the US)  Can you tell they’re not real?

Recipe:

Stamps:  Blooming with Love
Paper:  Whisper White, glittery cardstock from Michael’s, green Bazzill Bling
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  Dew drops (out of the floral department at Michael’s), Water color pencils, blender pen, SU! glitter, corner rounder, scalloped scissors

High Time

Posted in Uncategorized at 5:52 am by happygiggles

I thought it was high time I created a blog solely devoted to my card creations!  Yay!  My Mom and I have been purchasing stamping ingredients for quite some time now.  My passion started early on in life when my best girlfriend and I were about 8 years old.  We (I) decided we should go into business selling our creations.  Everyday we would open up shop in our cramped stifling hot playhouse.  I must admit I’ve come a long way since those days!  I now use card stock instead of computer paper and stamps instead of markers with clear embossing powder!

Here’s a bit of who I am:

  • I am recently married to the love of my life!  (September 8, 2007)
  • I will be celebrating my 26th birthday early in April.
  • We have no children yet
  • I try to make God first in my life (a daily challenge!)
  • I love to make cards!

Here is our wedding invitation.  The cream ribbon isn’t supposed to be crooked, honest.  All handmade by me, my Mom, and my best girls!

So please, won’t you come back and visit? I’ll try to update often!
